About the internship

This internship training has been designed with practical knowledge and skills development at its core. Students see a variety of psychological cases across different age groups, real patient history taking, mental state examination, diagnosis, case discussion, psychological tests, counselling skills, field visits, and quick psychological strategies to manage signs and symptoms across different branches of psychology.

Internship programmes

UG & PG students · 1 month

Basic Weekend & Weekday Internship

Specially designed for psychology students who want practical exposure without affecting their regular academic schedule. Conducted every Saturday and Sunday: case history taking through engaging role play, a thorough mental state examination, insightful case discussions, live demonstrations, direct patient observation, psychological assessments and real-world experience during field visits.

Weekday option: an intensive, skill-building programme for deeper exposure to clinical work — held 4 days a week.

PG students · 1 month

Advanced Internship

Immerses participants in case conceptualisation, psychological assessments and the Rorschach Inkblot Test. Interns develop clinical skills, create treatment plans and learn psychotherapeutic methods, starting with psychotherapy sessions: CBT projects with role-play, DBT for personality disorders, CBT techniques for anxiety and depression, and motivational enhancement therapy for substance use. Interns lead therapy sessions, manage projects and coordinate events, culminating in a certificate distribution ceremony.

    Case conceptualisation, role-playing, fundamental psychiatric issues, psychotherapy techniques, children’s mental health, psychological assessments, real patient interactions and field visits.

  • Addiction Psychology

    In-depth practical knowledge of addiction: types (alcohol, tobacco, cannabis), behavioural addiction, clinical assessment of patient behaviour, psychological treatment techniques, report writing, case formulation and field visits.

  • Forensic Psychology

    The intersection of law and mental health: criminal profiling, courtroom behaviour, police station and juvenile centre exposure, eyewitness psychology and ethical decision-making in a legal context.

Clinical psychology

A highly qualified, RCI-licensed clinical psychologist with an M.Phil. in Clinical Psychology and 12+ years of hands-on experience. She has served at the Department of Psychiatry at AIIMS, RINPAS Ranchi and Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), providing psychological assessments and therapy to diverse populations.

Addiction psychology

12+ years of experience in addiction psychology, including the National Drug Dependence Treatment Centre (AIIMS) in collaboration with WHO. Trained by the Drug Advisory Programme (DAP), USA, she is an expert and internal trainer in addiction therapy, with Best Paper Awards and publications on substance and behavioural addiction.

Forensic psychology

Dr. Rabya has worked closely with the Juvenile Justice Board on cases involving children in conflict with the law and drug-using adolescents, and at the Patiala House Court on alcohol abuse and criminal behaviour, preparing psychological case reports from real-life scenarios. Currently, working with professionals at the Delhi High Court, she assists in developing behaviour profiles, analysing psychological patterns and assessing mental health.

Who can apply?

Undergraduate and postgraduate psychology students. The Basic internship is open to UG & PG students; the Advanced internship is for PG students.

How long is the internship?

Each internship runs for one month. The Basic internship is offered on weekends (Saturday & Sunday) or weekdays (4 days a week).

Will I get a certificate?

Yes. A certificate and Letter of Recommendation (LOR) of completion are awarded at the end of the internship.
