Specific Learning Disorder
This is one of the most common neurodevelopment disorders affecting 3%-10% of children. SLD is children face problems in specific subjects or learning difficulties with one or more school abilities. It can affect language and academic performance which is caused by emotional disturbances, behavior disturbances, or cerebral dysfunction.
Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder. Challenges with inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity characterize it. ADHD is typically diagnosed during childhood and often persists into adulthood. However, effective treatments are available to manage the condition.
Common Symptoms of ADHD:
- Inattention
- – Difficulty sustaining focus on tasks or activities.
- – Frequently making careless mistakes in schoolwork or other tasks.
- – Struggling to follow through on instructions or complete assignments.
- – Often losing items needed for tasks (e.g., books, toys, tools).
- – Being easily distracted by external stimuli.
- Hyperactivity
- – Fidgeting, tapping hands or feet, or squirming in seat.
- – Inability to stay seated in situations where it’s expected.
- – Running or climbing inappropriately in certain settings.
- Impulsivity
- – Blurting out answers before a question is completed.
- – Difficulty waiting for their turn in conversations or activities.
- – Interrupting or intruding on others’ conversations or games.
